The second incident affecting the Kavi Sammelan is Corona. In the beginning of 2020, Corona had knocked in many parts of India. By March, the entire country had to be locked down. The movement of people stopped. Economic activities also had to be stopped. Not only India but the entire world came to a standstill. Lakhs of people lost their lives in India alone. Families were ruined and the entire world faced severe hardships. Which had an impact on the common people also. All entertainment related activities remained closed for almost two years. Films and stage shows remained almost closed. Many people had to flee the place. Jobs and businesses were destroyed. People had to face severe hardships for their lives. The same had its impact on the Kavi Sammelan also. The Kavi Sammelan, which was moving towards its destination, came to a complete halt during the Corona period. Some activities definitely started in 2022 but Kavi Sammelan could not get the same race as it used to have before 2016.
Social media caused more harm to the Kavi Sammelan than it benefited it. The side effect of the social media which took the Kavi Sammelan to every home was that the poem on which the poet used to gather applause on the stage. People listened to the same poem through YouTube sitting at home and the attraction of the Kavi Sammelan was lost.
